Los Angeles, Feb. 9, 2010 -- Pardee Homes has earned a Gold Award and four Silver Awards in The Nationals, with judges of the annual competition noting the homebuilder’s achievements in creating and marketing its new homes and communities in Southern California. Awards were celebrated January 19 as part of NAHB’s annual International Builders Show in Las Vegas. Taking home the Gold was Oak Crest Plan Four-X  (see Photos #8 and #9 at in the master-planned community of Fair Oaks Ranch. It earned its top honor in the Unique Space category. Its large and versatile optional guest suite also distinguished itself last fall, taking a top honor in the 2009 SoCal Awards, a regional celebration of Southern California new home marketing.

In both competitions, the Oak Crest Plan Three optional laundry/hobby space ran a close second.  (See Photo  #5 at

“With Oak Crest, we wanted to provide spacious, stylish and varied homes for families, with design that would allow our buyers to tune selected spaces to their particular lifestyle needs,” said Joyce Mason, vice president of marketing for Pardee Homes. “We are delighted to see both of these popular floor plan alternates praised by two professional judging panels!”

The Nationals program is sponsored by the Sales and Marketing Council of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and recognizes excellence in new home design, merchandising and marketing and advertising. This year’s competition drew more than 700 submittals from throughout the nation.

The Nationals judges also bestowed three Silver Awards on Manzanita Trail in San Diego. Plan Two was honored for architectural design; the model center earned kudos for its landscape design and the sales center for interactive point of sale experience. Manzanita Trail has also been multiply honored for green and sustainable design, and is a best seller for Pardee Homes, which is also the developer of its eco-friendly master-planned community, Pacific Highlands Ranch in San Diego County.
