Sabrient Systems Wins ConvergEx Award for
“Forward-Thinking Excellence in Business Strategy”

Santa Barbara, Calif., February 10-- Sabrient Systems, LLC, a leading quantitative equity research firm, has been named winner of the “Director’s Choice Award” as part of ConvergEx’s Jaywalk Independent Research Provider (IRP) Performance Award Program for the second half of 2009.  Akin to an Oscar in the independent research field, the Director’s Choice Award recognizes Sabrient for its “forward-thinking excellence in business strategy” and for investing in "new initiatives to increase the scope of its offerings to the demanding institutional investor community.”

“We are pleased and honored to receive this award from ConvergEx,” said David Brown, Chief Market Strategist for Sabrient (www.sabrient.com). “In this time of upheaval in the financial industry, we have sought to provide products and services that better meet clients’ demands and expectations. We’re delighted to be selected from among many fine independent research providers.”

According to ConvergEx Group, the Director’s Choice Award acknowledges forward-thinking excellence in the overall business strategy. ConvergEx provides access to a network of approximately 150 IRPs through its Jaywalk consultancy division. Their survey evaluated IRP business strategies, with particular weight given to successfully adapting to a changing marketplace.  As the recipient of this award, Sabrient has been recognized for its investment in new initiatives to increase the scope of its offerings to the institutional investor community.

“The equity markets in the second half of 2009 remained challenging and often unpredictable, so we are pleased to recognize outstanding IRPs whose unique perspectives allowed them to foresee future trends and anticipate market shifts,” said John Meserve, chief executive officer of ConvergEx Research Solutions, of which Jaywalk is a division.
