Dahlin Group Honors Span Development Spectrum

Green, Seniors, Infill & Lifestyle Designs Praised

Pleasanton, Calif., Feb. 24, 2009 — Recent honors for Dahlin Group Architecture Planning span project types that reflect significant development trends. "Green building; seniors housing; higher density housing and lifestyle-targeted design are integral to development’s future,” said Doug Dahlin, firm founder and president. “Dahlin Group is proud to be recognized for recent achievements in these arenas.”

Green
—Dahlin Group’s headquarters building in Pleasanton continues its award-winning ways with the San Francisco Business Time’s top honor in the East Bay Structures Awards. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified to the Silver level for commercial interiors (LEED CI), the structure is one of only 25 LEED CI office buildings in California. Its striking architecture and green design also earned top honors in the Gold Nugget Awards.

Seniors Housing
—Dahlin Group won a First Place in The Green House® Design Charrette, sponsored by the Ideas Institute of Kirtland, Ohio. Judges noted this Rural Design submittal for sensitivity to human scale, residential character and optimized living spaces. The Green House model aims to eliminate the need for large nursing facilities, and departs from such facilities by altering facility size, interior design, staffing patterns and methods of delivering skilled professional services. The American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) hosted the awards.

High Density & Infill
—Celsius 44 in Petaluma, California won the North Bay Business Journal’s Top Real Estate Project Award. St. James Properties is the developer.

New honors for Morgan Square in Fremont were bestowed at the 2009 Best In American Living Awards (BALA), which noted the three-story, detached homes for upscale livability in a revitalizing area of downtown Fremont. Lifestyle Designs
