Upscale Hotel Hybrid Opens in Southern California

Renaissance ClubSport Design by Dahlin Group Architecture Planning

Pleasanton, Calif., September 30—Dahlin Group Architecture Planning announces completion of Renaissance ClubSport in Aliso Viejo, California, the second in a series of innovative designs that meld upscale hotel lodgings with fitness and leisure facilities that are also available to their communities. Created for Marriott International and Club Sport developer Leisure Sports Inc. of Pleasanton, the Aliso Viejo facility is a signature property of the concept’s national expansion.

“Dahlin Group’s command of specialty design and planning, plus their presence in our headquarters city, made the firm a natural choice for us,” said Leisure Sports Chief Executive Steve Gilmour. “The Aliso Viejo property demonstrates this expertise, and continues the distinction Dahlin Group brought to our first ClubSport in Walnut Creek.”

Aliso Viejo’s Renaissance ClubSport includes 174 guestrooms and suites with spa-style baths, plug-in technology, wired and wireless Internet, state-of-the-art fitness and leisure amenities, a day spa, child care facilities and fine dining. It is part of the Summit Office Campus.

“Renaissance ClubSport serves business and leisure travelers seeking short or extended stays,” said Karl Danielson, principal of Dahlin Group, which began its work in 2005 as design/planning architect for Renaissance ClubSport. “Local residents can take memberships here, plus benefit from a quality hotel for visiting friends and family.” 

Danielson said that like Walnut Creek and Aliso Viejo, upcoming Renaissance ClubSport facilities will be situated in urban and high-density suburban setting. These include Menlo Park, California.
