Peter Mayer Named to ÉLAN Awards Hall of Fame
Los Angeles, November 20, 2007 —Peter Mayer, producer of the most prestigious awards programs in the building industry, has been named to the Sales and Marketing Council (SMC) Hall of Fame at the 2007 ÉLAN Awards, celebrated at the Beverly Hills Hotel in October. The Hall of Fame designation recognizes professional achievement and commitments over time by its honorees, and is a feature highlight of the ÉLAN Awards.
Now in its 25th year, the ÉLAN program is presented by the SMC of Los Angeles/Ventura, and celebrates the best and most successful achievements in sales, marketing and merchandising for new home development throughout Southern California. It is considered one of the homebuilding industry’s most notable programs, annually drawing hundreds of submittals in a broad range of design, advertising, sales and development categories.
“My work has made it possible for me to join with our industry’s best and brightest, true professionals who share my pursuit of excellence, and who continue to play an important role in my success,” said Mayer. “I thank them, and the judges who selected me for this tremendous honor.”
Judging for the Hall of Fame was by Mayer’s peers in the SMC, and was outside regular new home sales and marketing categories. Also inducted into the 2007 Hall of Fame were Eric Elder of Ryland Homes and Mark Higgins of D.R. Horton.
Mayer adds his ÉLAN honor to ongoing recognition from the industry for major achievements. In 2007, this includes the “Lifetime Legend” designation from MAME of Northern California, a competition sponsored by the SMC of the Homebuilding Association of Northern California.
Mayer is a past recipient of the Rodney Radom Award, bestowed on individuals who make significant contributions to the California building industry, particularly to its annual PCBC, the largest regional conference and exposition serving the homebuilding industry. Mayer has also been honored with the Max Tipton Award for Marketing Excellence by the MAME program for Southern California.
Mayer is founder and head of Peter M. Mayer Productions in Alta Loma, California. He serves as judging chairman and/or show producer for such awards programs as The Gold Nugget Awards, the Nationals, several regional MAME Awards and ÉLAN. Mayer is a resident of Alta Loma.
